I'm Home!

So this last semester was pretty tough. The plan was for me and David to move in with my grandma for two months while I finished up the last term of school. This plan was foiled however when we got this great opportunity to rent this little two bedroom home in the mountains of Morgan that was perfect for us. So David moved to Morgan and I moved in with my grandma and we only saw each other on the weekends.

School was pretty tough. It was a term instead of a whole semester so everything was crammed into half the time. Work also became pretty stressful. My work was being sued by this crazy ex-client and it was causing all sorts of problems.

All I wanted was to be done with school and work and live with my husband again. I thought those seven weeks were never going to end! I was so sad and stressed out all the time. I know I just sound like a huge complainer but it was tough for me.

The great news is that it is all over! I finally made it. I am officially done with college and I'll have a Bachelors Degree in Family Studies from BYU. I'm so proud of myself. I will officially graduate and walk in August.

Now I live with David again and I can focus on our baby! I'm loving living in Morgan. Both David's and my parents live less than ten minutes away. David's brother and his wife and baby are also moving to Morgan so we can see them a lot more too.

All in all life is going great and I'm so happy!

Lagoon!

I love Lagoon. David and I  have gone several times and we just have a blast. We didn't think that we'd be able to go this year since I was pregnant and we didn't think it would be worth it to spend the money on tickets when I couldn't ride many rides. Fortunately David's mom Teresa had some discounted tickets and because they were going camping the week they were valid they gave them to us! We invited my mom and sister to come along with us. Even though I couldn't do much it was so much fun.

This is my mom's most favorite ride. It is so fun to hear her yelling and laughing during it!

After Lagoon we go to stop and visit David's sister Lysney and her new baby boy Henry! He is beautiful and  I'm so excited he is apart of our family.

I am getting more and more excited for my baby. David set up our crib the other day and we are getting our nursery put together. I have four months left. It feels like it is taking forever but I know she will get her before we know it. Can't wait!

Pregnacy Problems

So back when I was 16 I was in a car accident where I received a blood transfusion. The new blood I received had an antibody. A little bit after the transfusion I got a letter telling me about the antibody so I have known about it for awhile. The antibody has no effect on me but they told me it might cause some complications during pregnancy. I told my doctor about it and he asked me if I had the anti-K antibody or the anti-Kell antibody. In the letter I got they told me I had anti-K. The anti-Kell antibody is much more serious and can cause a lot more problems with the baby so the doctor and I were relieved I only had anti-K. My doctor referred me to a perinatologist (a doctor who deals with higher risk pregnancies) to follow up. Looking at my blood work the perinatologist told me I did in fact have anti-Kell.

My mom was with me in the appointment because David had to work. I'm so glad she was there because this was scary news.  Basically if my baby has the Kell gene it will attach to his/her red blood cells. My antibody will then attack the red blood cells which obviously causes a lot of problems including things like heart failure. Doctors monitor the baby throughout the pregnancy and most likely the baby would need a blood transfusion while still inside my belly.

The doctor told me the next step was to have David's blood tested. If he had the Kell gene it would most likely be passed onto the baby. There was a chance though that David wouldn't have the gene. In this case the Kell gene would not be passed onto the baby and the baby would have no problems. We asked the doctor the likely hood of this. She told us that David had a 90% chance of having the gene. Bad news.

Mentally I thought there would be no way that David would be negative. The chances were so high that he had the gene. We got his blood work done and they told us we would know in about a week. Well a week later we called and the results were still pending.  We called again and the doctor had gone out of town. Finally almost two weeks later we got a call with the results.

They told us.... David is not a carrier of the Kell gene!!   90% of people carry the gene and he is part of the 10% that doesn't. This means we don't have to worry about this problem during this pregnancy or any of my future pregnancies!

We are beyond happy of this news. I'm still meeting with the perinatologist in 4 weeks to make sure everything still looks good but it looks like so far we are having a totally healthy baby.

Moving!

Moving was terrible! Haha it was so much work and for a pregnant woman it wore me out.

We had to have everything done by April 27, a Saturday morning. Both my mom and my dad came down Friday night to help us clean and boy we could not have done it without them. We packed and loaded and cleaned and cleaned. It was exhausting but we got it done!

 

So our cat had knocked over a Scentsy and spilled red wax all over the wall. This is my awesome dad getting it all off.

Thankfully we were able to borrow my grandpa's truck and trailer to help with the move.

Our new place is a two bedroom home in the mountains of Morgan. We are on 150 acres and love it. We were so lucky to have the opportunity to rent this beautiful place. Unfortunately I am spending most of my time in American Fork living with my grandma while I'm finishing up school and David is holding down the fort in Morgan. We try to see each other as much as possible but it sucks not being together. I only have six more weeks until I am done though!

So a couple great things have been happening to us lately!

First off we have a beautiful new niece! Taylor is such a beautiful baby and David and I love her so much. We had a great time visiting Taylor and her parents in the hospital. I was so emotional that day because it made the baby I'm having feel so much more real. Can't wait until we can visit her again!

Second great thing is that David and I found a place to live after I graduate! We had always wanted to move back to Morgan but never really considered it because there are not a lot of renting options. Luckily for us David's mom, through her work connections, found us the perfect place to rent! It is a little two bedroom house just off North Morgan Valley Drive. When you turn off the the main road you have to drive about 3/4 of a mile on a dirt road to get to the house. It is completely tucked away in the mountains  The people we are renting from own 150 acres of the most beautiful land. The house is old and outdated but its very cozy. It has a wood burning fire place and a spacious living room. We are moving in this weekend and have been spending the last few days packing. I HATE packing! Luckily I have the best husband and he has done most of the packing while I have been studying for finals. Unfortunately though I still have to take two more classes to take before I can graduate from college so I will mostly be living with my grandma in American Fork until mid June. David will be splitting his time and staying in Morgan some nights and American Fork the others. Anyway, I am so excited that we found such an amazing place to live in Morgan. We are five minutes away from both of families. Can't wait till we move in!

Christmas, Birthday, Anniversary trip!

So for Christmas last year David bought me tickets to see Bon Jovi! I was so excited but thought that April was so far away. Its funny how fast time goes by. Last week decided to do an overnighter and use my Christmas present but also celebrate both our birthdays and our anniversaries too. We had so much fun going to Salt Lake and staying in a hotel. {A little shout out to Jayden Snyder: We were crossing the street while walking to the concert. There was a car waiting at the light. The person in the car shouted, Hey Enlows! I had no idea who was in the car but it finally realized it was Jayden! a good friend from high school. It was so funny seeing him as we were crossing the street.} The concert was so so fun! I'm so glad David got us the tickets.

We had to wait outside before they opened the doors. It was freezing!

The next day we decided to go to the zoo. It was such a fun trip. Since it was the middle of the week hardly anyone was there. We saw so many animals doing fun things too! The elephants (which are my favorites) were being filmed for a TV spot for the zoo so we saw the little elephant doing lots of cool tricks! It was such a fun trip.

I'm pregnant!

So it's official!  David and I are expecting our first child on October 11th.  We couldn't be more excited. Here is a little of the story of when I found out.

So me and my mom have a friend who does zone therapy. One day, while my mom was getting zoned the friend mentioned that she thought that I might be pregnant. My mom called me up and asked me if we were even trying to get pregnant. I said well..kinda! After my mom told me that our friend said she thinks I was pregnant it was all I could think about. I still had like five days before I could test and it sucked. I kept wanting to test but David told me to wait so it would be more accurate. Finally one morning I was laying in bed and said I'm going to do it! I was super nervous when I took the test but it was positive! I couldn't wait to tell David so I dragged him out of bed and told him I had to show him something. He was super ornery about it and complained and complained. When he finally got up I told him. We were both pretty shocked about the news but so so excited.

I am currently 15 weeks along and have been to two doctors appointments  Everything looks good so far so hopefully I have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby! We just can't wait to be parents.
