San Diego

With David leaving for basic so soon we decided to take a last minute vacation to San Diego! We both managed to get time off work, we got the hotel booked, and a couple weeks later we left on vacation.

I had to work the day before we left. I worked until 11 pm and we decided it would be best to drive all night for Austyn's sake. David picked me up from work with the car all loaded up and we started our trip. Driving all night was the best thing we did. I was a little worried about how David would do driving all night but he did great. Austyn slept the whole night and I got a lot of sleep too. Austyn was soooo great on the drive. She slept most of it but when she was awake I would just sit in the back and entertain her.

 We got to the hotel at 11 AM. Unfortunately we couldn't check in for a couple hours so we got some lunch and picked up a few things at Target. When we checked into our hotel I was absolutely exhausted. I crashed and expected David to crash too. He had only slept for a couple hours that morning. When I woke up from my little nap though David hadn't slept at all because he was so excited to go to the beach! We had so much fun at the beach. Austyn LOVED it. She loved the sand and she loved playing in the water. Me and David and a great time taking turns playing in the waves.

The next three days we went to the Safari Park, the zoo, and Seaworld. We has so much fun every single day. Austyn did so great too. She loved riding in her stroller and when she got too tired she just fell asleep in the stroller. She also made friends everywhere we went. Wherever we went people were saying how cute she was. The only time she was hard was when we went to shows. Especially now that she is mobile she does not like sitting still on our laps. We had to do everything we could to distract her. Other than that she was an angel our whole trip!

When we weren't looking at animals we were eating yummy mexican food, wandering old town, and playing in the pool.

I was so sad when we had to go. we had such a great time. The ride home went very well though. Austyn again was a champ. We split the drive home up into two days and spent the night in St. George.

We had sooo much fun on our vacation. We made some great memories before David leaves for basic. I'm so glad we decided to go!
